How we work with families

  1. 01

Get to know your child — and you

We start by understanding your child's world and your concerns, so the work fits the whole family.

  2. 02

    Build the plan together

We set meaningful therapy goals for your child collaboratively and discuss expectations for parent communication.

  3. 03

Work with the child, coach the caregivers

We work directly with your child and give you strategies to use at home between sessions.

  4. 04

    Coordinate the care

With your permission, we coordinate with schools, pediatricians and any OT or speech providers — under one roof where possible.

Common questions

How involved are parents?

Very. With children especially, we work with both the child and their caregivers — coaching strategies you can carry into everyday life. For younger children we typically meet with parents minimally every six weeks and as often as weekly, and stay in regular communication in between about how the work is going and how often to check in.

What ages do you see?

Children, teens and their families. Talk and play therapy generally starts around ages 3–4, while occupational therapy and speech-language therapy can begin earlier — around age 2 — and are by no means only for the youngest kids.

Will you coordinate with our school or pediatrician?

Yes, with your permission. Coordinated care is one of the biggest advantages of having therapy, OT and speech under one roof.

Do you take insurance?

We take BCBS PPO and Aetna PPO. To understand the benefits your plan provides, reach out to your insurance provider directly.
