Neuropsychological assessment.
What testing reveals
A neuropsychological evaluation is one of the most powerful tools in mental health. It looks closely at how your — or your child's — brain actually works: attention, memory, language, processing speed, executive functioning, learning, and emotional and social development. The result is a clear, holistic picture that explains what's been hard, and why.
Testing is tailored to your specific questions. Whether you're chasing answers about ADHD, a learning disability, autism, a mood or anxiety disorder, or a more complex mix, we design the evaluation around what you actually need to know.
Testing can bring clarity to:
- ADHD & attention concerns
- Learning disabilities (reading, writing, math)
- Autism spectrum profiles
- Giftedness & twice-exceptional profiles
- Memory & processing-speed differences
- Executive-functioning challenges
- Anxiety, mood & emotional regulation
- School accommodations (IEP / 504)
How the process works
A thorough, human process — not just a score on a page.
- 01
A thorough intake
We start with an in-depth interview to understand the history, the concerns, and the questions you most want answered — sometimes gathering input from family, schools or other providers.
- 02
A tailored test battery
We select the measures that fit your questions — a battery built around you. Testing generally happens over two sessions, with breaks built in. Bring snacks!
- 03
Careful scoring & analysis
We score, integrate and interpret the results, weighing them against real history and day-to-day functioning — not just the numbers. We often consult with colleagues and do the necessary research to provide a truly comprehensive interpretation.
- 04
A feedback session
This is the part where we really hold your humanness. Hearing information about ourselves — or our children — can be hard, so we sit with you and share what we found in language that's clarifying, holistic and has integrity: what it means, and what it doesn't.
- 05
A written roadmap
You leave with a clear written report and concrete recommendations. These aren't page-fillers — every recommendation is tailored to your specific needs, with real next steps for treatment, services and accommodations at home, school or work.

Clarity changes everything — for school, for work, and for home.
Common questions
How long does testing take?
It typically takes four separate sessions: an intake, two testing sessions of about 3–4 hours each, and a dedicated feedback session. We'll give you a realistic estimate up front.
When will I get results?
After testing, we score and integrate everything, then meet for a dedicated feedback session and provide a full written report you can share with schools, physicians or other providers.
Do you test adults, or just kids?
Both. We evaluate children, adolescents and adults — many adults pursue testing for ADHD, learning differences or long-standing questions that were never fully answered.
Will testing get my child accommodations at school?
A clear diagnostic picture and specific recommendations are exactly what schools need to build an IEP or 504 plan. We write the report with that real-world use in mind.
Is testing covered by insurance?
We take BCBS PPO and Aetna PPO. Coverage for testing varies by plan, so reach out to your insurance provider directly to understand the benefits your plan provides.
Not sure whether testing is the right next step? A diagnostic consultation is a lighter-touch way to start — we'll help you figure out what kind of answers you actually need.
